Tiffin Tin!

I had completely forgotten that we have a stash of these tiffin tins here at home. This one is the two tiered one, we also have a three tiered one. I made my lunch in the two tiered...I think the three would have been a bit much. Although in thinking about it one tier could have had fruits in it. Great idea for the next bento!

And here's what was for lunch.

On the left : Turkey with fennel, onions and lemon with some black sesame seeds to add color. Brown rice with my favorite furikake lately - nori, bonito, sesame seeds and egg.
On the right: Simple mixed greens salad with tomato, yelllow peppers and radishes.

First two bento pictures!

Ok so this first one isn't my first bento ever. It's just the first I ever took a picture of. It's my second ha! I made this one for my mother in November of 08.

So far I've just concentrated on making my bentos look interesting and pretty when you open them to eat. I'll try for more complex things later...when I get braver.

Here's the first (second):

Contents -
Bottom tier: mini cheesecake with chocolate, globe grapes and apple bunnies.
Top tier: fried rice, edamame, chicken meatballs and a chick bottle with soy sauce.
Side car: mixed greens salad, red onions, craisins, sunflower seeds and cherry tomatoes.

And now for the next. I haven't had time to take pictures lately and with my kitchen being repainted and new cabinets I just didn't have time to bento too much.

This is today's bento:
Bottom tier: brown rice with furikake (yes there's rice under there, I just love furikake) edamame, asparagus, beef with garlic and lots of onions (they're all under the beef)
Top tier: mixed greens salad, cherry tomatoes, HK has a bit of olive oil, slice strawberries and green grapes.

I was supposed to use this one for a drawing on the adventuresinbentomaking.com forum and I completely forgot the card that needs to go with it. Argh. I'll try again tomorrow!

I DO love bento!

Hello my little blog space! This here spot is where I'm going to be putting all of my bentos as I take pictures of them. I hope to make some pretty ones, some tasty looking ones and some cute ones. But most of all I definitely intend to enjoy them. I hope anyone who passes by enjoys looking at them :)
